Auditions for Little Women
The Leeds Arts Council is excited to hold auditions for Thomas Hischak’s straight play adaptation of Little Women, directed by Olivia Soileau, on September 17 from 6-9 PM and September 18 1-4 PM. Please arrive at the earliest time for each audition and expect to stay for the full time. There is a possibility of callbacks and you will be contacted if this applies to you. People from ages 15-25 and 50+ are especially encouraged to audition, but there are parts for anyone 13 and up. No experience necessary.
You do not need to prepare a monologue, but if you wish to buy a script to look over before auditions, you are encouraged to do so. You can expect cold reads at the audition. You will most likely read for every character for which you fit the demographic, even if you are not interested in the character.
Performance dates are December 10, 11, 17, and 18 @ 7 PM and December 12 and 19 @ 2 PM. If cast, you would be expected to be available for all performance dates and the week leading up to the show. Rehearsals will be Wednesday-Friday (6-9 PM) and every other Saturday (10 AM-2 PM ) on most weeks starting September 29. However, conflicts are expected. Please examine your schedule, especially your Thanksgiving and holiday commitments, and have these ready to put on your audition form or fill it out beforehand. Please be honest, as your conflicts will only affect your casting in extreme cases.
