Chalk Challenge for June 2021
Let’s chalk it up to patriotism, as we celebrate Independence Day with our Patriotic Chalk Challenge again this year. Like last year, we’re promoting the event as a way for people from all across America to join together by expressing their shared pride in our country.
Challenge participants will be encouraged to create USA-themed artwork with chalk, paint, markers or another medium. Themes could be the flag, eagles, an outline of the United States, the Statue of Liberty, the White House, etc. If participants prefer, they can write “Happy Fourth of July” or “I Love America” on their driveways or sidewalks.
There’s also the opportunity for participants to win prizes for themselves and their favorite 501(c)(3) charities.
This is how it’ll work:
• Artists can create their art June 1-12 and upload it to Woodmen Life Facebook page
• Online voting takes place June 16-23, and on July 1, and the top three vote-getters will be announced
• First place wins $1,000 – half for the artist and half for his or her favorite 501(c)(3) charity. Second place wins $600 – half for the artist and half for his or her favorite 501(c)(3) charity, and third place wins $400 – half for the artist and half for his or her favorite 501(c)(3) charity
Anyone is welcome to participate. This contest is not limited to Woodmen Life members. We want to promote shared commitment to country with a patriotic event in which everyone can participant from a safe distance. Even if neighbors and friends don’t create artwork, they can still enjoy the artistry going on around them.
We had artwork from across the country and thousands of votes last year. Let’s make the challenge even bigger this year.
Let’s chalk it up to patriotism!
