NY Goal Criteria_600

We here at Everyone Leeds wish you much success in 2025!

The new year is a perfect opportunity to set goals to make some changes in your personal life or career. To make sure your goals will lead to success, we thought we'd share these three essentials to help you get started:

1. Be Specific

A goal that is clear is much easier to reach than a vague one. Instead of saying, “I want to save money,” specify how much you want to save and by when. For example, “I will save $500 by the end of March” will give you a clear target to work toward and a roadmap for how to get there.

2. Be Realistic

Your goals should challenge you, but they must also be achievable. Setting goals that are too ambitious can lead to frustration and set you up for failure. For instance, if you’re new to running, aiming to run a marathon in a month might be unrealistic. A better goal would be to complete a 5k in three months, giving you time to train and build confidence.

3. Be Measurable

A measurable goal allows you to track your progress and celebrate milestones along the way. For example, if your goal is to read more, define it in measurable terms like, “I will read one book per month.” This makes it much easier to see how far you’ve come and will keep you motivated.

Final Thoughts

Specific, realistic, and measurable goals set the stage for success. By focusing on these three keys, you can create a clear plan and stay on track throughout the year. Start small, stay consistent, and make 2025 a year of meaningful progress!
