State Small Business Awards Include a Bronze Winner,
Top 10 Finisher from Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce
The Alabama Small Business of the Year Awards presented by The Partnership of the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama (CCAA) and the Business Council of Alabama (BCA) recognize the very best in Alabama small business. A total of 40 Alabama small businesses, 10 in each of four categories, were named as finalists. Presented annually, the awards recognize businesses of merit based on a variety of civic endeavors, business success, and community involvement.
Finalists were honored at the BCA/CCAA Partnership Annual Meeting on Tuesday, November 19, at a luncheon at The Club, where gold, silver, and bronze winners were named in each category. adr Business & Marketing Strategies received a bronze award! In addition, Earthborn Studios, Inc. was named to the Top 10 in their category. Both businesses which were nominated by the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce. Such a tremendous honor for both of these companies to be recognized among the "best of the best" in the state of Alabama!

adr Business and Marketing Strategies was chosen for the 2024 Alabama Small Business of the Year Award at the Bronze Level in the Category – 1-10 Employees, in addition for previously making the Top 10. Here’s part of what their nomination included: “Dona’s contributions extend far beyond chamber involvement. She has volunteered countless hours to support local businesses and increase community awareness. As the Editor of "Everyone Leeds," a community online news and e-newsletter, Dona has spent over four years curating and publishing weekly updates on events, offerings, and providing a community calendar. Her work ensures that residents and businesses in Leeds stay informed and connected. Dona’s commitment to promoting community events is further reflected in her regular contributions to local newspapers and TV stations. Her dedication to community involvement is evident through her active membership in multiple chambers of commerce, including the Leeds Area, Moody Area, Greater Odenville, and Pell City Chambers of Commerce. Dona's impact is particularly profound in the Leeds Area Chamber, where she has played a pivotal role in shaping their Corporate Ambassador Program.”

Congratulations to Earthborn Studios, Inc. for Being Chosen a Top 10 Contender
Earthborn Studios was recognized for being named a Top 10 contender in the 11-50 Employees Category, and their nominator had this to say: “The ’Blue Light Special Art Show’ routinely draws over 2000 people on the second weekend in December since 2007. Hosting over 50 other artists in various media, the show also features a fundraiser for First Light Women’s Shelter and The Well House, both ministering to the needs of struggling, sometimes exploited and trafficked, girls and women. For this event, Tena donates 200 bowls, her chefs donate the soup and bread, and the buyers purchase the $25 gourmet lunch, keep the $50 bowl, and the charities receive all the funds. The attendees of this show gladly and freely spread their money around the community, eating and shopping while in Leeds. Many business owners have thanked Tena for this bump in sales and visibility during this weekend. Tena has received many awards through the years including the Enterprising Women Award, and the International Shipping Award from the Birmingham Business Alliance. Publications such as Southern Living, Cooking Light, American Craft, Flower Magazine, and others have featured Tena and her team and their successes through the years. Earthborn now 27 years later provides plating to restaurants globally. From Amsterdam to Dubai to Hawaii, Tena’s pottery is recognized not only for the beauty of the earth it represents but a durable, marketable, replaceable product.”

TONIGHT!! Thursday, November 21 - Food Trucks 5:00 pm / Tree Lighting 6:00 pm
Mark your calendar and plan to join us for Leeds Downtown Christmas Tree Lighting TONIGHT, Thursday, November 21st on the Parkway at the Gazebo next to Leeds Arts Council. Food Trucks and other festivities will begin around 5:00 pm. Tree Lighting Ceremony will begin at 6:00 pm.
Santa will be there for "Selfies with Santa" and we will have Christmas entertainment to complete the festivities to kick off the holiday season with Leeds High School Band! Don't forget to do some Christmas shopping while you are downtown. This event is hosted by the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Leeds.

Leeds Arts Council Tree Lighting Festivities
Make plans to stop by and see us at Leeds Arts Council on Thursday evening while attending the annual tree-lighting festival downtown! We will be serving hot cider and have our Photo Booth open for picture-taking with the family. Also, we are raffling a gift basket that includes a $100 Visa gift card and 2 tickets to any show at Leeds Arts Council. The gift basket is valued at $200. Raffle tickets are $5 and the drawing will be held on December 8th at the end of our Christmas Extravaganza variety show. Bring Toys for a Chance to Win $500 at Leeds 2024 Cruising for Toys Charity Cruise-In – the Fourth Annual Leeds Cruising for Toys, a cruise-in for a cause, is scheduled for Saturday, November 23 beginning at Noon on Parkway Drive in downtown Leeds, Alabama.
This event is open to all cars, trucks and bikes. Admission is at least one unwrapped toy or donation. Bring your unwrapped toy to enter a drawing to win $500 cash. Every toy you bring will grant you a ticket toward the chance to win $500 CASH. You must be present to win and the more toys you bring, the better chance you have to take home the cash!
This is a toy drive and fundraiser to benefit children and teens through Leeds Outreach to provide Christmas for needy families.
A cruise-in, 50-50 and door prizes are planned for an afternoon fun for all ages so bring your favorite vehicle and your family to enjoy a great time together for a great cause!

Vehicles will cruise in on Saturday between the hours of Noon and 3:00 p.m. to drop off their toys and donations on the Parkway between 8th and 9th Streets. From there, the cars, trucks and bikes will line the streets beginning at 8th Street.
The Cruising for Toys event is sponsored and hosted by Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce, City of Leeds and C & C Motor Company. A High resolution flyer is available for you to share and display in your place of business at leedsareachamber.com.
This group is accepting unwrapped toys, monetary donations and items for door prizes. Let’s all work together to make this a great Christmas for many children! It was an honor to participate in The American Legion Post 107 Thanksgiving lunch, drop off supplies for senior citizens in assisted living, and to meet Mr. David Miles. Mr. Miles helped his father write a memoir of his World War II experience as a U.S. soldier. It is always so amazing to hear such vulnerable stories, and I cannot wait to read his book!
