Designed to cater to both casual players and competitive athletes, this state-of-the-art facility will bring a premier pickleball experience to the community, further establishing Leeds as a hub for active living and sports engagement.

The bid was awarded to the low-bidder, Milam & Company, LLC, at this week’s Council meeting. This company has previous experience in municipal sports and recreation facilities construction projects and construction will begin soon.

The project includes the development of 12 regulation-size pickleball courts, complete with high-quality surfaces, nets, and black vinyl-coated fencing with gates to ensure a professional playing environment. These courts will provide ample space for tournaments, leagues, and casual matches, inviting players of all skill levels to enjoy the fast-growing sport of pickleball.
A 230’ x 155’ pre-engineered metal building will house essential amenities. This facility will include a standing seam metal roof and a turn-down skirt for durability and aesthetic appeal. The structure will serve as the central hub for activities, offering a welcoming environment for players and spectators alike.

To enhance accessibility and convenience, the Leeds Pickleball Centre will incorporate several key infrastructure elements. A well-planned parking area with standard-duty asphalt pavement and designated spaces will ensure smooth traffic flow and ample parking capacity. Sidewalks, concrete curbs, and a drainage system have been integrated into the design to promote safety and sustainability throughout the site. Additionally, a comprehensive electrical system will power the facility, including service panels, lighting, and control systems to support evening play and enhanced visibility.
