The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted a festive and fun-filled morning at the 4th Annual Kiddie Day Parade & Water Wars on Saturday, June 28, at Leeds Memorial Park, bringing families together to celebrate community, creativity, and the upcoming Fourth of July holiday.

Parade participants of all ages showed off their patriotic spirit by decorating their favorite rides—bicycles, tricycles, wagons, battery-powered cars, and more—in honor of Independence Day. Decked out in red, white, and blue, the parade circled the walking track multiple times, creating a colorful and joyful sight set against the perfect backdrop of American Flags and the Veterans Memorial Park display.

Winners in this year’s parade were recognized for their exceptional decorations and spirit:

  • 🏆 Best Decorated Ride: Millie Green, with her large bike/trike dazzlingly adorned with a "Happy Fourth of July" banner, large American flags, and festive stars and stripes
  • 🏆 Most Patriotic Ride: Diana Gaspar, with her bicycle beautifully decorated in American flags and patriotic pinwheels
  • 🏆 Crowd Favorite: Liberty Penney, with her adorably decorated pink battery-operated car that captured hearts all around

Each winner received Chick-fil-A gift cards and fun Chick-fil-A swag, adding a delicious reward for their creativity!

The Chamber also made sure every participant got into the spirit with plenty of free patriotic swag for all. Adding to the excitement:

  • 📸 The Kristi Graham Scott Group brought out a fun selfie backdrop, patriotic selfie frames, and photo booth props for families to capture their memories
  • 🌊 Casey Parsons of Guild Mortgage sponsored water pools and toys, while the Leeds Fire Department brought the splash with cool water fun to beat the summer heat
  • Snowie of Alabama and La Antojena were on-hand with plenty of icy treats with snow cones and lemonade
  • Other sponsors included Exit Legacy Realty, Show Ur Tees and Beverly’s School of Dance

“This event is one of our favorite community traditions,” said Amy Lee, Executive Director of the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce. “It’s all about bringing families together, building relationships, and celebrating our country in a fun, meaningful way.”
