Keeping Our Community Safe and Spooky!
🕸️ Trick-or-Treating Tips 🕸️
Stay Visible! 🌟 Attach reflective tape to costumes and bags, and carry a glow stick or flashlight.
Stick Together! 👥 Young children should always be with an adult, and older kids should go in groups.
Check Before You Munch! 🍬 Wait until you’re home to enjoy treats, and let a parent or guardian check them first.
Use Crosswalks! 🚦 Only cross at marked crossings and avoid running into the street.
🎃 For Drivers 🎃
Drive Slow and Safe! 🛑 Go extra slow in neighborhoods; kids may dart out unexpectedly.
Stay Alert! 👀 Keep your focus on the road and put the phone down.
🕷️ Costume Safety Tips 🕷️
Avoid Masks for better visibility; use non-toxic makeup instead!
Watch the Length 👗 Avoid costumes that could cause trips or falls.

Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce Welcomes New Executive Director Amy Lee as Sandra McGuire Retires After 20 Years of Services
The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to welcome Amy Lee as its new Executive Director. Amy Lee has stepped into the role following the retirement of Sandra McGuire, who has served the Chamber with dedication and passion for the past 20 years.
Sandra McGuire’s leadership has been instrumental in fostering strong business relationships, supporting community initiatives, and promoting economic growth in Leeds. Under her guidance, the Chamber has seen significant expansion, the creation of numerous successful events, and the strengthening of partnerships that have contributed to the vibrancy of the local economy. Sandra’s impact on the Leeds community will be remembered for years to come.
Amy Lee, a seasoned professional with extensive experience in organizational leadership, is ready to take on the role of Executive Director. She is eager to build on Sandra’s legacy while bringing a fresh perspective and new ideas to further the Chamber’s mission of supporting local businesses and fostering community development.
“I am honored to have served as the Executive Director of the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce for the past two decades,” said Sandra McGuire. “The relationships I’ve built and the growth we’ve achieved together as a community will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m confident that Amy Lee will continue to lead the Chamber with the same commitment and enthusiasm.”
Amy Lee expressed her excitement about joining the Leeds Chamber, stating, “It is a privilege to follow in the footsteps of someone as accomplished as Sandra McGuire. I look forward to working closely with our businesses and community partners to further the Chamber’s impact and continue to make Leeds a great place to live, work, and thrive.”
Amy also shared a bit of her personal story: “I was born in Fresno, California and raised in South Carolina, which I feel qualifies me as a southern girl! I’m Hmong, the youngest of 11, and happily married since 2016. My husband, born and raised here, introduced me to this charming town of Leeds and, of course, I couldn’t help but absolutely fall in love with this city. I’ve worked in everything from customer service to corporate accounts and love to lend a listening ear. I have an enthusiasm for learning and love meeting new people, because to me, this community is more like family. There’s a certain sense of history and togetherness the city of Leeds brings and I hope to continue that tradition while building growth and new relationships, which I hope we can do together!”
Both Sandra and Amy were recognized at the October chamber luncheon and a special retirement celebration honoring Sandra will be announced soon. The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce is confident that this leadership transition will pave the way for continued growth and success for both the organization and the Leeds community.

🎃👻 Halloween is here! As you and your little ones get ready for a night of spooky fun, don’t forget to take a few last-minute steps to ensure everyone has a safe and thrilling evening. 🔸 Practice Costume Safety: Double-check that costumes fit properly to avoid tripping and add reflective tape for extra visibility after dark. 🔸 Prepare for the Scare: Test out your spooky decor and lighting now to make sure it’s exciting, but not too intense for the little ones. 🔸 Choose Makeup Wisely: Swap out masks for hypoallergenic makeup for a more comfortable and breathable night of trick-or-treating. 🔸 Rethink the Mask: If your costume includes a mask, consider leaving it out to improve vision and avoid any unwanted surprises. Let’s make this Halloween a fun and safe celebration for everyone! 🎃✨ Scott Cantrell - State Farm Agent 📍1935 Courson Ct, Leeds, AL 35094 ☎️ (205) 699-7286

🦷 Dental Care Items: toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash
🍼 Diapering Products: diapers (newborn-size 5), baby wipes, diaper rash cream
🎀 Feminine Care Products: tampons, maxi pads, pantyliners, feminine wipes
🧼 Other Personal Care Items: bath soap, lotion, deodorant, shaving supplies, cosmetic wipes, toilet paper, paper towels
Drop off donations in our lobby phonebooth Tuesdays 9-12 p.m., Wednesdays 5-7 p.m., Saturdays 9-11 a.m., or when you come for class or a training session. Thank you so much for your help!
LEEDS OUTREACH
The Earl Street Christmas Program was around before Leeds Outreach. Last year, Leeds Outreach served more than 200 children. Leeds Outreach would not be able to make our Christmas program a success without our sponsors and we appreciate your community partnership to make it possible to provide Christmas for children of families in need.
If you have questions or would like to be a sponsor, please contact us by calling our office at 205-699-7291 (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday). You may leave a message at our mobile # 205-352-7691 and we will contact you when we are available. You may also email us at leedsoutreach@gmail.com and visit LeedsOutreach.org. Thank you.
