Leeds, AL- Children and their families had a great time at the 1st Annual Kiddie Day Parade on Saturday at Leeds Memorial Park.  This was a special parade event where anyone regardless of age or abilities could walk, ride or roll.  Bicycles and tricycles were decorated to enter their rides in the contest for first, second and third place trophies.  Casey Parsons with Guild Mortgage, Tina Poe with Exit Realty and Shandi White with Stratford Realty gave out goodies while Leeds Fire & Rescue were on hand with Sparky and the fire truck for photo ops and to participate in the parade.  Trophies were awarded as follows:  First Place - Esmeralda Tomas, Second Place - Kimbell Kruse and Third Place - Elmer Gonzalez.  This event was sponsored by Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce.  Photos courtesy of Dona Bonnett – adr Business & Marketing Strategies and Donna Coates – Heights Title Company.

The next major community event hosted by the Chamber is the 28th Annual Creek Bank Festival scheduled for Saturday, May 20 with a rain date of May 27 at Leeds Memorial Park.  Over 120 vendors have already registered and vendors are still being accepted.  Stage entertainers include Lynnox Poe, Evan Riley, Erica Ryleigh, Avery Ford, Kudzu, Eric Watters and Elvis Tribute Artist Terry Padgett.  This year’s Creek Bank Festival is expected to be the biggest one yet.

Summer activities include First Friday Downtown Movie Nights for June, July and August.  Toy Story 4 is scheduled for June 2, Beauty & the Beast is scheduled for July 7 and Minions 5 is scheduled for August 4.  Food trucks will be available and everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs to enjoy these outdoor family movie events at the corner of Parkway Drive and 8th Street across from Regions Bank and Leeds Jane Culbreth Library in the concrete parking lot.  This event is sponsored by the Chamber and Leeds Redevelopment Authority.
