Notice of Election of Municipal Officers

City of Leeds, Alabama

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, an election will be held to elect a Mayor and a City Council Member for District 1, District 2, District 3, District 4, and District 5 for the City of Leeds. All registered and qualified electors of the state, who reside within the corporate limits of the City of Leeds, Alabama, and have resided therein for thirty (30) days or more immediately preceding the date of the election, and who are qualified to vote in the county precinct which embraces and covers that part of the corporate limits of the city in which the elector resides, will be authorized to participate in the election. If necessary, a run-off election (§11-46-55(d)) will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 (§11-46-21(a)).

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the following municipal polling location:

City Hall Annex (formerly Alabama Power Payment Center) – 1412 9th Street, Leeds, AL 35094

Any qualified elector who has resided within the municipality for a period of at least 90 days on Election Day may qualify to run for office by filing the appropriate forms and paying any appropriate fees, as otherwise prescribed by law, with the Leeds City Clerk.

The period of the candidate’s qualification commences at 8 a.m. on June 10, 2025, and ends at 5 p.m. on June 24, 2025. The City of Leeds will be closed on June 19th to observe the federal holiday Juneteenth National Independence Day. Statement of Candidacy and other necessary documents may be obtained and returned to the City Clerk at the Leeds City Hall.
