A Collaborative Effort in Preservation
The Historic Leeds Depot is owned and maintained by the City of Leeds, which leases the facility to the Leeds Historical Society for public programming and historical interpretation. The Mid-South Chapter of the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society subleases the Agent’s Office and exhibit room, where this new display will be permanently installed.
“We are deeply grateful to the City of Leeds for its continued stewardship of this historic property and for supporting our mission to preserve and share local history,” said Randy Ray, President of the Leeds Historical Society. “This exhibit celebrates a landmark that was once the heart of Birmingham’s rail travel, and we are excited to share it with the public.”
