Leeds Historic Downtown Walking Tour & Festivities
Leeds Historic Downtown Walking Tour was a huge success. This multifaceted event incorporated over 150 volunteers, 75 reenactors in full costume at over 30 stops (locations) in a one-mile downtown walk that brought visitors from all over the state on Saturday to celebrate the City of Leeds in the year 1940. Reenactors portrayed real Leeds people who were here in 1940 highlighting stories, people and places sharing our city's history. Among the highlights of the day, an old fashioned hymn sing was held at Mosaic Church, a jazz fest concert was performed by our Greenwave Jazz Ensemble, 12 churches who were here in 1940 and still active today were recognized and so much more! This event was part of the Alabama Tourism April walking tours. Leeds Creek Bank Festival will celebrate 29 years this year and the festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 18, with a rain date of May 25 at Leeds Memorial Park hosted by Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Leeds, Alabama. Vendor applications are pouring in and plans are underway for another fabulous festival. Off-Broadway | Play at the Epiphany | Episcopal Church of Epiphany
Show dates: May 31 & June 1; June 7 & 8. Synopsis: The play opens at the headquarters of the National Playwrights in NYC, where a panel of judges has just agreed on a winner. Calling all campers!! Spots for our summer camps are filling up fast and you don’t want to miss all the fun we are going to have in June. Annie Jr camp directed by Josh McDaniel will run June 3rd through 16th. Mean Girls Jr camp directed by Allie Piccu will run June 17th through June 30th. Tuition is $225 per camp with a $25 discount for additional siblings. Scholarships and financial aid are available.
