Public Service Announcement – New Traffic Signal at Exit 140 Near Buc-ee’s

The City of Leeds is pleased to announce that the new traffic signal at Exit 140—located at the end of the I-20 East off-ramp, heading west toward Highway 78 and The Shops at Grand River—is now installed and flashing.

Flashing Mode: The signal will remain in flashing mode for approximately 7–14 days to allow drivers to adjust.
Full Operation: After this period, it will become fully operational, improving safety and traffic flow for motorists accessing key destinations such as The Shops at Grand River and Buc-ee’s.

This long-awaited safety upgrade addresses a high-traffic area that has been a concern for both residents and visitors for years. The computerized traffic light system will help move more vehicles safely across the intersection without long backups—making travel in and out of this busy corridor safer and more efficient.

The project follows the recent full LED lighting upgrade at Exit 140, which has greatly improved nighttime visibility and safety. These combined improvements reflect the City of Leeds’ commitment to proactive infrastructure development and traffic management.
