Leeds Fire & Rescue News
Leeds Fire and Rescue will begin hosting AHA (American Heart Association) CPR classes on the 1st Tuesday of every month starting September 5th. Instructors will teach courses in the training room at St. 1, 1051 Park Drive beginning at 9 am. Classes will be open; you don't need to call ahead or register. The cost for the course will be $25 per student.
Leeds Alabama Police Department News
Please join us in welcoming Officer Jeremiah Jarrad to the Leeds Police Department! Officer Jarrad will graduate from the University of Alabama Birmingham this weekend and will report to the Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy on September 4! Officer Jarrad completed a 240-hour internship with our department since May and has worked hard to be a Leeds Police Officer!
City of Leeds Paving Project 2023 is Underway
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT - City of Leeds 2023 Paving Program - The City of Leeds began an extensive paving project for 2023 which mobilized on Friday, August 11. Perpetration and paving began on Monday, August 14 with Mountain View Lane being the first area planned to be re-surfaced. The total program is expected to be about a two-week period, weather dependent. The tentative order of road work will be • Mountain View Lane • Parkway Alley • Ashville Court • Diane Street • 1st Avenue SE • Weaver Avenue • Brian Court. The City of Leeds will be resurfacing approximately 17,177 Feet of city roads with this project with an investment of $1.1m.

Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce Luncheon
HAPPENING TODAY! Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce will host their monthly chamber luncheon at 11:45 am on Thursday, August 17 at Leeds First Methodist Church located at 1189 6th Street, Leeds with Guest Speaker - John Moore, Leeds City Schools Superintendent. This is a great opportunity to meet and develop relationships with other Leeds area business professionals, hear a great speaker and enjoy a great lunch. This Thursday, August 17, will be our last Farmers Market! Come on out and support your local farmers market, 3 pm-7 pm, Garrett Kelley will be singing. We have enjoyed our New Grassy area. Thank You, City of Leeds, Alabama. Huge Thank you to Leeds Main Street and Amber Dilley Vines for all your support. Thank you all for helping make it a fun community event for everyone. I loved seeing families and retired seniors come out and sitting under the big trees, listening to music, enjoying food from the food trucks as well as getting their veggies and lots of other hand made items. Helping Others
America's First Federal Credit Union is proud to present a check for $15,000 to the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama as part of their Feeding Families Across Alabama Food Drive. From July 1-31, they collected more than 20,000 pounds of food which equals 17,000 meals. The check for $15,000 presented to the food bank will also provide another 60,000 meals! This means the grand total will provide more than 77,000 meals for those in need throughout our communities! Thank you to everyone who contributed for your generosity in helping to feed neighbors in need.
