Historic hardware store in Leeds to be redeveloped, open by mid-2025!
Leeds Announces 9th Street Expansion Project: The City of Leeds is excited to announce that TA Services, Inc. (TA) will begin construction in coming weeks on a new facility involving the old hardware store at 1524 9th Street NE. The project aims to integrate the old with the new, capturing the charm of historic Leeds. The new build will be inclusive of salvaged brick from the original hardware building and restoring it to its original state. The rest of new building aims to integrate red brick, and pay homage to the past of the surrounding fabric by using scale and form to tie into its neighboring structures. The design aims to blend modern elements with traditional brick detailing. The integration of these elements will create a building that withstands time.
The plan for the new facility includes office and meeting space on the first floor and mezzanine levels. The building will also house conference space, a games room, break room, and open office area. The plan is meant to accommodate a growing TA team for now and the future. The new facility will increase foot traffic in downtown Leeds to support the local community.

Inspiring Insights from James Spann at Leeds Area Chamber Luncheon
The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon was truly enlightening, thanks to the incredible James Spann of ABC 33/40. The luncheon was held on Thursday, August 22, at First Baptist Church Leeds.
James shared three powerful messages that resonated with everybody: 1) Find Your Passion: Discover what drives you and let that passion fuel your journey; 2) Hard Work Pays Off: There are no shortcuts to success – dedication and effort are key; 3) Serve Others: Success isn’t just about personal achievement; it’s about having a servant’s heart. As James put it, “If you need a blessing, go bless somebody else.”
A big thank you to James Spann for these motivational words and for reminding us of the importance of community and service. And at the same time, he made us laugh, and after all, laughter is the best medicine.
The Chamber would like to thank the ladies of First Methodist Church and also the Chamber’s student diplomats for their assistance in serving the food for this huge crowd, Tiffiany Ward for introducing James Spann, and Miss Leeds Area Samantha Hennings for blessing the meal.

Meal Sponsors Needed | Leeds Band Boosters
The Leeds High School Band Boosters has approximately 50% of their meals sponsored for the band. This non-profit organization will need 10 meals to cover the regular football and competition season and we are still looking for sponsors.
We provide drinks, an entree, dessert and a side for 120 people for every game and competition. It is important to feed our band students before away games and competitions. Band students go directly from school to away game preparations so they do not go home and eat. Band Boosters feed them so they have fuel for the game. For competitions, band students have a long day of practice, travel, and performance so these students must have fuel to represent Leeds well. Meal sponsors are also needed for away games during the playoffs, but we don't have those dates yet.
Meals may be sponsored by providing money (and the Band Boosters will order and prepare the meal) or by bringing the meal to the band. More than one person, business, or group can sponsor a meal to share the cost. Sponsors are publicly thanked on our Facebook page and the Band app (for band parents and students).
