Everyone Leeds People of Leeds Highlight - CJ absolutely loves Leeds and Friday night football. He has Autism and absolutely loves living in Leeds with his mom, Ashley Michelle, and his brother, Jace. Both boys attend Leeds Primary School. CJ adores Will Ford, he’s a senior this year and #11 on the LHS football team. Will was such a good friend to CJ this year at Summer camp. CJ and Jace are already off to a great school year start and are playing on the Leeds Youth Football Sophmore’s team. Thank you, Ashley Michelle, for sharing CJ’s story with Everyone Leeds! Leeds Fire & Rescue Dive Team News
Leeds Fire & Rescue Dive Team - There are three levels of training for the dive team that include the Open Water Certificate, Advanced Water Certificate, and Public Safety Diver. Public Safety Diver is the highest level of what they do. It’s a two-week class and in that class itself, they train people from all over the state. People come to us, because of our level of expertise. There is no cost to City of Leeds personnel, but the investment for outsiders to train varies according to the number of people are going through the program. In this last class, they had twelve students that included St. Clair County Sheriff’s Deputies, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies, Sylacauga Fire, Pell City Police, and Fire. Most of Pelham’s and Guntersville’s dive teams have gone through their class so they train them all. Lieutenant Michael Jenkins currently serves as the head of the dive team. He has been with the department for fourteen years and has been with the dive team from the onset.

BINGO returns Friday, September 1 at Leeds Civic Center. Doors open at 5 pm. Games start at 6 pm. Stadium food available for moderate prices. A 100% smoke free and alcohol-free facility. Must be 19 and older! This event is hosted by Knights of Columbus Leeds Council 5597 and enables this organization to help others through their charity projects.

Leeds-Moody Area Kids Acting Class
Event: Kids Acting Class for Grades 1st-12th grades - every Tuesday night at 5:30-6:30pm - just started back. Details: We have a couple of spots left and are doing a show called "Christmas Shorts" at the end of the class. We have 20 kids of all ages and the kids are learning a lot with theater. We are focused on comedy skills this semester. We will be accepting kids up to the start of October or until we hit 25 kids.
