City of Leeds Announces Downtown Revitalization Project

The City of Leeds announces a legacy project that was originally planned to be done in phases to revitalize most of the downtown area and now will be completed in one large venture. Plans are to totally reconstruct Leeds downtown from 7th Street to 9th Street on Parkway Drive and two blocks on 9th Street on either side of the Parkway. This reconstruct will include new sidewalks with decorative brick pavers, more well-defined landscape areas and new decorative pedestrian lighting. One of the key functions will be ADA compliance for all sidewalks. View Full Press Release

Car Drop-off Zone

LPS car line starts Wednesday at 7:15am. Please remember to arrive early, be flexible and patient, and have your student ready to exit the car on the passenger side. A huge shoutout to the wonderful PTO parents who are volunteering to help direct traffic this week. If you plan on walking your student in on their first day of school, please know there is limited parking at the front of the school and you may have to park down by the civic center and walk if you choose that option. No one should park along the curb, or double park. Also, handicap parking is for families with that specific need, not for a quick drop off. If you are taking part in carline, please do not get out of the car, we will assist your child in getting out of the car. Please give all hugs, kisses, and finish breakfast prior to getting to the front of the carline so that we can get everyone through as efficiently as possible. Once again, thank you for your patience as we start back to school. Don't forget, the bus is always available for kindergarten and first grade students. We can't wait to see everyone later this week. We need your help again this year. We provided back-to-school supplies for more than 100 Leeds students this year. The cost was over $10,000. Your support is needed. Please help us help. We provide assistance for people in the Leeds area. Since we have no paid staff, rent, or other bills, 100% of your donation goes directly to assisting hurting people throughout the community. The Red Barn

Your gift will help a child like Jacob. Jacob has had a tough start in life. He was born with hearing loss and has since been diagnosed with autism, sensory processing disorder, and ADHD. He has difficulty with transitions and has meltdowns when overwhelmed. Jacob struggles to make friends and is socially isolated. He loves being around animals, but this is difficult for his family to afford. His mom believes being at the barn can help him to come out of his shell. Jacob’s concerned mother ends her application with this heartbreaking plea, “I know coming to The Red Barn will help my sweet child learn to make friends and develop coping skills for his daily life.” Will you give today? https://secure.givelively.org/.../give-to-provide-a...
