Leeds Welcomes New Police Chief Paul Irwin
City of Leeds introduced new Police Chief Paul Irwin at the Council Meeting Monday night. Mayor David Miller formally welcomed the new Chief. State Representative Jim Hill swore him in. Rev. Jacky Connell prayed over Chief Irwin, his family, Leeds Police Department and the City of Leeds. Chief Irwin shared a few words from his heart. His family stood with him during the ceremony. Officers from the St. Clair County Sheriff's office, Pell City Police Department, Moody Police Department and Leeds Police Department were in attendance among others. Mayor announced that the City will be recognizing outgoing Chief Jim Atkinson at a future date in appreciation for his service.
