February is officially here! Love is in the air! Valentine's Day is just around the corner and there are many offerings to celebrate with your favorite Valentine right here in Leeds, Alabama. It's also time to read. Our schools and library are gearing up for a great month of reading. Reading Across Leeds has officially launched with Leeds Primary and Elementary schools. Leeds Jane Culbreth Library has launched a number of reading programs including 1000 Books before Kindergarten, For the Love of Reading Bingo, Warm Reads and more! Of course, the next My Story Town will be fabulous scheduled at The Livery. The Chamber has one more business workshop and if you are even thinking about starting a new business, this workshop is for you - How to Take Your Side Hustle to a Small Business! With today being Groundhog Day, will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow? Will we have six more weeks of winter or will spring come early!!!

Read Across Leeds Reading Competition
February 1st kicks off Read Across Leeds! Abigail Wideman, Miss Leeds Area's Outstanding Teen, has partnered with Leeds Elementary and Leeds Primary to promote reading throughout the month of February! Students will keep track of the number of books they read during the month and then, submit the number to a Google Form at the end of the month. (We will post the link to submit later this month!) The winning class will receive a prize! We can't wait to see all of the books our kids read at school and at home this coming month!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Leeds Jane Culbreth Library is happy to promote 1000 Books Before Kindergarten. *Sign up your children for the reading program designed for children 0-5 years old. Go to LeedsLibrary.Beanstack.com and register to earn badges, books, and certificates to print for keepsakes along the way.

Starting on Monday, February 6th, CrossFit Righteous is offering an after school kids program for ages 5-16. CrossFit Kids is meant to be BIG fun for kids of all ages. GFL - Green For Life is the current residential garbage/waste management services for the City of Leeds residents. GFL bought out ECOSOUTH. There have been a number of social media posts about issues with GFI with billing and garbage pickup recently. If you are having problems with your garbage service, billing or any problems and you cannot get satisfaction from the company, you can send a complaint directly to the City of Leeds.
