Leeds Happenings this Week!

As the holidays come to an end, while school and work start up in full swing, we reminisce on traditions held with those that we love. Whether that be Secret Santa, watching a favorite holiday movie, or setting off fireworks into the early hours of the day, we all have them. One tradition that goes unmentioned in our community are the late night and early morning trips to Waffle House. As opinions on Waffle House go, one either loves it (those that do love it typically order the same item every time, going years without trying something new), or hates it, with very little discretion in between. However, on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and 12am on New Year's Day, it is guaranteed that there will be customers. On the first day of school and the last day of school, on AP and ACT test days, and most popularly on Friday nights, students will fill in the booths at the Waffle House, in anticipation of a comfort meal that is sure to bring them memories of a childhood so quickly going by. Waffle House holds a certain place in every LHS students’ heart as it will always offer exactly what we need, at whatever time we need it. We all have strong memories in Waffle House, some good some bad, and whether you like the food or not, for generations to come Waffle House will be home to both the young and old looking for a hearty breakfast and a good time. ~Darcy Phillips - Everyone Leeds Intern.
