Leeds Happenings this Week!
The Place to Go to Be in the Know
Check Out this Week's Leeds Happenings
Leeds is continuing to grow. Our Mayor just cut the ribbon this week at LifeSouth Community Blood Center. Two additional ribbon cuttings are scheduled next week and more new businesses will be announced soon. July is coming to a close this weekend and back to school is fast approaching. Seems like time goes by so quickly. The library, arts council and local businesses have a lot going on. Our Back to School Bash & 1st Friday Family Movie Night plans are coming together so be sure to mark your calendars for August 5th. The Three Earred Rabbit plans to stay open later that evening with an awesome spaghetti & meatball special. We invite you to check out all of the events, happenings, offerings and news snippets in this week's edition of Everyone Leeds.
Also, remember to send us your news so we can feature it right here and always...
Shop Leeds. Dine Leeds. Live Leeds. Entertain Leeds.
LifeSouth Community Blood Center's Ribbon Cutting on July 25
Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Leeds had a ribbon cutting on Monday to celebrate with LifeSouth Community Blood Center on their new location in Leeds at 1725 Ashville Road, Suite 121 in the Leeds Stations Shopping Center (old Curves space).
Ken Grissom was the guest speaker at the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon last week. Ken is the Center Director, Procurement Specialist and ASBDC Certified Business Advisor for Jacksonville State University. He shared information on how his department at JSU can help our local businesses in a variety of ways including new business start-ups, just thinking about starting a business or already in business and would like to grow. Also, if you would like for your business to do business with the government or need an SBA loan, Ken's department can help you with the necessary paperwork and process to accomplish this endeavor. Thomas Todt, the State Director for the US Small Business Association, also attended our meeting and shared a few words. Ken and one of his team members, Tonya McGowen, spent the afternoon meeting with four of our local businesses. These appointments are confidential and there is no cost to the business, because these services are paid for through government grants. If you would like to schedule an appointment to meet with a certified business advisor or learn more about this program, please contact Sandra McGuire at 205.965.9392.
