Journeys Ribbon Cutting
The City of Leeds and Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce officially welcomed Journeys to Leeds on Monday with a ribbon cutting (Their grand opening was Saturday). Mayor Miller cut the ribbon as we celebrated this new retailer at The Outlet Shops of Grand River.

Finding Nemo Jr. Performances
It's a Big Blue World in Finding Nemo Jr.! Join Leeds Arts Council this weekend, June 16 - 18, to see the camp kids perform this magical production on an incredible set. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at leedsdartscouncil.org under the "Store/Ticketing." Be sure to purchase tickets in advance to secure the best seats, as these show dates will be at capacity. Show times are:

Leeds Arts Council is excited to announce our Children’s Acting Classes taught by Josh McDaniel beginning Thursday, August 17th. Class will be open to 1st through 12th graders. Classes will run through October culminating with a weekend show to present their newly acquired skills. Tuition is $200 per child. Leeds Fire & Rescue News
Leeds Fire & Rescue is glad to announce that we have been awarded an Assistance to Firefighters grant (AFG) through FEMA.
The grant is an equipment grant for $309,200.00 to be used for the replacement of the departments breathing apparatus and replacement of the departments air compressor system to fill the breathing bottles.
This is the largest amount we have received and are ecstatic to be able to replace this equipment at a low cost to the city, it will enhance our ability to serve the city of Leeds.

Leeds Historical Society's general membership meeting is this Sunday at 2 pm.
Open Mic Night Competition | Leeds Arts Council
The LAC along with musician and host Mandi Rae Trott will be presenting an Open Mic Night in a competition format. 5$ for both performers and spectators. The winner each month will receive 50% of the door money as a cash prize based on a vote at the show's end.
Open mic will be June 18th from 7 pm - 9 pm - sign up in person beginning at 6:30 or email mandiraemusic@gmail.com to get on the list. If your act or band has more than two people - please let us know ahead of time so we can set up for you.
Tell your friends! The more people who show up to perform or watch is more money you can win! This will be recurring on the 3rd Sunday of every month. This is a great chance to get stage experience if you are new to performing.

We will dive into the life history and habitat preference of animals big and small that live in Alabama. You will also get to see and touch various pelts and skulls of these animals. Species include but are not limited to white-tailed deer, bobcat, otter, and wild boar!
