Cruising the Creek Bank Car Show Charity Presentations
C & C Motor Company Present Checks to Leeds Outreach and Backpack Buddies:
Chris & Christy McCombs of C & C Motor Company presented checks to Leeds Outreach and Backpack Buddies. $8,000 was raised from the 2023 Cruising the Creek Bank Car Show in conjunction with Leeds Creek Bank Festival with each charity receiving $4,000. The McCombs, their volunteers, and vendors work year-round to provide the Moody Oktoberfest Car Show for Moody Miracle League and the Leeds Cruising the Creek Bank Car Show to benefit Leeds Outreach and Backpack Buddies.

We want to display a Mini City of Leeds and we need your creative help. Design and create your favorite place in Leeds with boxes, paper, LEGOS, papier-mâché, craft supplies, modeling clay, or popsicle sticks. If you can dream it and craft it, we want to display it. Suggestions of the places in Leeds that you could to build: the Leeds Jane Culbreth Library, a bank, the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce, the Leeds Board of Education, the train depot to name a few. You can even create and show the inside of your building. You can bring in your creation throughout the summer. Be sure to put your name somewhere.

We have a new program for everyone to take advantage of on Mondays at 3pm-4pm called Good Vibes Mondays - Sisie, Self-Care & Share at the Leeds Jane Culbreth Library. Come every Monday this summer to meet Sisie, the therapy dog and her trainer, Gary. Sisie is an Athalon Shepard Mix. Gary adopted Sisie, who was found homeless on the streets of Central Alabama. As a trainer, Gary could tell that Sisie loved people. So, Sisie went to school to be a therapy dog and became an AKC good citizen! We want our members to have an opportunity to meet Sisie because she works at the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth Airport to help calm anxious airplane passengers before their flight. Take an opportunity to chat with Gary to learn more about therapy dogs and various training for doggies. Crafts may change.... look on the website or call for more information or changes. Alongside every veteran, there is also a family and children whose lives are greatly impacted by the veteran’s service. Erika, who has special needs, has had to move several times due to her father’s military service. These transitions have made getting the care Erika needs hard.
Erika’s mom recently wrote to me, “Erika needs help verbalizing what she wants/needs and struggles with confidence, balance, and hand-eye coordination. She has anxiety attacks and also suffers from tremors.”
