Watch Chris Barentz on Absolutely Alabama
Chris Barentz continues her fame!
Chris Barentz is becoming quite famous as she scurries around town spreading sunshine and painting sunflowers everywhere you look as she draws attention to #prayforukraine. Have Volkswagen will travel as Chris packs up her painting supplies and heads to her next project. Chris was featured on WVTM Channel 13 with Rick Karle this week. If you missed the interview, you can find it on social media. Chris also had a visit from Fred Hunter and will be featured with him on WBRC FOX6 - Absolutely Alabama next week.
Here is a recent Facebook post where Chris shared: "Look who showed up in my neighborhood thanks to Susan Dalton Johnson!!! Next week WBRC FOX6 News will air a story on me by Absolutely Alabama’s Fred Hunter WBRC. My paintings for #prayforukraine are making me famous!!!"

Knights of Columbus Charity Bingo Night
Mark your calendars for Bingo Night! Leeds Knights of Columbus Council 5597 announces a Charity Bingo night at Leeds Civic Center scheduled for Friday, March 18. Doors open at 5 pm and Bingo begins at 6 pm. This is a fundraiser for charity projects in the greater Leeds area.

Summer Student Theatre Workshop
Leeds Arts Council is pleased to announce that Matilda the Musical Jr. is the show chosen for the Summer Student Theater Workshop for students in grades 2-12. The workshop will be held June 6-19 at the Leeds Theater and Arts Center, in downtown Leeds. The workshop is a two-week workshop, with students attending 8 am to 12 noon, Monday through Friday. There will be four performances: Friday June 17 at 7 pm, Saturday June 18 at 2 pm and 7 pm, and Sunday June 19 at 2 pm. The director is Michael Bridges, award-winning drama director at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School.
Registration must be received online or by mail by 12 noon on Friday May 20. Online registrations can be paid by credit card; checks are to be made out to Leeds Arts Council and returned with the mailed registration. The maximum number of participants will be 35; if this number of registrations is reached before May 20, registration will be cut off at that point. Please complete the registration form and return it as soon as possible. (I believe we will have online registration through the LAC website, but it is not active yet.) We are looking forward to a great workshop!
