Congratulations Leeds City Schools Archery Teams!
Did you know that Leeds High School, Leeds Middle School and Leeds Elementary School had Archery teams? Everyone Leeds would like to personally congratulate winners from each school. All Leeds City Schools Archery Teams competed on Friday, March 18 at the Prattville Regional Archery Tournament.
Leeds Elementary Archery Team
Emma Stidham, 5th grader at Leeds Elementary School, placed first place girls. Emma won 1st place out of 27 girls in the Elementary Division at Prattville Regionals.
Leeds Middle School Archery Winners
At Regionals, the following students were Leeds Middle School's top three shooters:
- Vivienne Harvey-6th grade
- Chloe Kontzen- 7th grade
- Daniel Funderburg- 7th grade

1st Place Leeds Middle School
This is Vivienne Harvey's first season in archery.
- She was the highest scoring female in Leeds (including elementary, middle & high schoolers) with a score of 259 out of 300.
- She scored 3rd place among all Leeds contestants (male & female, including elementary, middle & high schoolers).
- She placed 5th in the state out of 77 middle school girls.

Grand G’s Kitchen Ribbon Cutting
The City of Leeds and the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce cut the ribbon at Grand G's Kitchen on Friday, March 18. They opened in October and are already famous with their great food and atmosphere. Summer Student Theatre Workshop
Leeds Arts Council is pleased to announce that Matilda the Musical Jr. is the show chosen for the Summer Student Theater Workshop for students in grades 2-12. The workshop will be held June 6-19 at the Leeds Theater and Arts Center, in downtown Leeds. The workshop is a two-week workshop, with students attending 8 am to 12 noon, Monday through Friday. There will be four performances: Friday June 17 at 7 pm, Saturday June 18 at 2 pm and 7 pm, and Sunday June 19 at 2 pm. The director is Michael Bridges, award-winning drama director at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School.
Registration must be received online or by mail by 12 noon on Friday May 20. Online registrations can be paid by credit card; checks are to be made out to Leeds Arts Council and returned with the mailed registration. The maximum number of participants will be 35; if this number of registrations is reached before May 20, registration will be cut off at that point. Please complete the registration form and return it as soon as possible. (I believe we will have online registration through the LAC website, but it is not active yet.) We are looking forward to a great workshop!
