End of the school year activities with awards days, graduations, parties and more mark the end of an awesome 2021-2022 school year and kids look forward to getting out of school for the summer. Leeds Splash Pad will open this Saturday, May 28 which will bring plenty of summer fun!
The City of Leeds has plenty of exciting news to share with the new Text My Gov communication service that will be launching next week, a brand new fire truck about to be in commission, a new outdoor fitness center coming soon to Leeds Memorial Park and so much more!

City of Leeds Announces a New Outdoor Fitness Center
Leeds will be getting a new outdoor fitness center soon which will be located at Leeds Memorial Park. The City is in the process of moving the playground equipment from the little playground and placing it at the big playground to make way for this exciting new fitness court. This project is possible partially through a Blue Cross Blue Shield grant. More information coming soon about this exciting new fitness center.

If you missed the An Evening with Brandi McClaran fundraiser show this past weekend, you missed a great time. We are so thankful for the wonderful folks who gave so generously of their time and talents to help us raise money for our needed tech upgrades. Thank you, Brandi, and thank you to everyone who came out to see the show! Brandi announced our 2022-2023 Theatre Season and we are thrilled to share it here. Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce awarded a $500 Diplomat scholarship to one Leeds High School graduate. Dona Bonnett on the Chamber Executive Board presented the scholarship at the Leeds High School Awards Ceremony on Sunday to Chamber Diplomat Brianna Ward. Also, recognized for their participation in this year’s High School Diplomat Leadership Program: Brody Goodman, Joseph Hume, Cassie Lewis, Miguel Luna and Pedro Martinez. All students received a Certificate of Participation and a gift card.
Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce Names Mary Beth Lochridge as 2022 Teacher of the Year
The Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce chose Mary Beth Lochridge as the 2022 Teacher of the Year. At the May luncheon last week on behalf of the Chamber, Leeds City Schools Superintendent, John Moore, presented the award and a $500 check to Ms. Lochridge who is a well-loved first-grade teacher at Leeds Primary School. Be Responsible with Your Trash | Reduce - Reuse - Recycle
City of Leeds residents are welcome to utilize the City of Leeds Recycling Center for disposing of appropriate trash, but please DO NOT DROP OFF anything after normal business hours. Please visit the City website for a list of appropriate items that can be discarded at our Recycling Center. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is to be dropped off anytime other than during business hours. Come out to enjoy a Charity Bingo night at Leeds Civic Center scheduled for Friday, June 3, hosted by Leeds Knights of Columbus Council 5597. Doors open at 5 pm. First of 6 games begin at 6 pm. Football style food and homemade desserts are available at a small cost. Games are typically over by 7:35 to 7:45 pm. Completely smoke and alcohol free! This is a fundraiser for charity projects in the greater Leeds area.

All you have to do is send me a CLEAR photo of your fur love. I will sketch your baby off on a 11X14 or 16X20 canvas (please include canvas size when sending photo (only ONE pet can fit on 11X14 choice) for you to paint!! I’ll be there to help add the finishing touches to your masterpiece. Cost is $55. You can add an additional pet for $20 on a 16X20 or upgrade to an 18 x24 canvas for an additional $15. Payment through the ticket link, Venmo or PayPal must be made before sketch will be done. Cost includes EVERYTHING to create your fur love masterpiece!!
