It's was a Fabulous Homecoming Week and a Big Win!
It was a fabulous Homecoming Week! Team spirit spilled over everywhere. Besides a huge win over Southside Gadsden and a great evening at the homecoming game on Friday night, the homecoming parade through downtown Leeds was so much fun! Annette McGuire at the library captured some wonderful video clips and photos of the parade so be sure to check them out on the Library Facebook page.
Adding to the spirit throughout downtown Leeds, you could see Chris Barentz painting the town green on many of the storefronts as well as Leeds Main Street. The library staff painted theirs and you could see the windows painted at Laney's Country Cooking, too. It's great to see everyone so excited about Leeds, Alabama and putting so much effort into team spirit! Roll Greenwave Roll! #RGR
Leeds National Night Out 2022 was a Huge Success
Leeds National Night Out brought a good crowd to enjoy a great night together on Tuesday. Spire cooked plenty of hot dogs and we had popcorn from Premier. The kids enjoyed face painting, bouncy houses and more. This event was sponsored and hosted by Leeds Police Department and Leeds Fire & Rescue. There were plenty of local vendors with lots of giveaways. Police Chief Irwin said a few words from the stage and Miss Leeds Area 2023 Emma Wright sang the National Anthem. We appreciate the work that Chief Irwin and Chief Parsons and their organizations put into this event, Steve Karr for DJ and sound, all of the vendors who participated and everyone who came out to enjoy the evening together!
