Leeds Elementary PTO Raised $1,045.35 for Leeds Elementary School at the Greenie Bowl
We are thrilled to report that the Greenie Bowl raised $1,045.35 for classrooms at Leeds Elementary School!
This first annual kickball tournament was designed as a community event. Proceeds from sponsorships, Frost Bites Shaved Ice, LLC, concessions, spirit, and merch sales were all donated to Leeds Elementary School for use in classrooms.
A tremendous thank you to everyone who attended, played, and volunteered at the Greenie Bowl, as well as our sponsors: Michelle Davis Dental, Marble Specialties, CrossFit Righteous, Simple. Effective. Nutrition-Powered by CrossFit Righteous, Vulcan Realty, Southern Trace Neighborhood and Charles Barkley Enterprises.
Leeds Police Department at the Greenie Bowl
The Leeds Police Department Greenie Kickball tournment team!!! We played a great game and now we are going to watch some college football!!!
Leeds Fire & Rescue at the Greenie Bowl
Today 10 members of Leeds Fire & Rescue spent the day playing in the first annual Greenie Bowl, thanks to Michelle Davis Dental for sponsoring us. These people could have spent the day watching football or doing other things with their family. When I was asked in early August if we could get a team together, one member was asked to get a team and he took it and ran with it having a team committed in just a few days. I can not be more proud to have this group of people working for Leeds Fire & Rescue. Not only the moral and ethical character they have, their commitment to doing their job is second to none. These 10 represent how our entire Department feels about representing Leeds. This was an outstanding event put on by Leeds Elementary PTO, we were runner up. Congratulations to Leeds Elementary School staff winning the Greenie Bowl. See you next year.

City of Leeds Bulk Waste Pickup
City of Leeds Bulk Waste Information:
Bulk Waste Pickup is a benefit of living in the city limits of Leeds. You can view the Bulk Waste Pickup Map to see when you are scheduled according to your address at https://lis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/View/index.html
*Please note as you review the Bulk Waste Map and Schedule that pickup is twice a month and not every other week. The Schedule each month begins with the FIRST FULL WEEK OF THE MONTH. This means that if a month begins in the middle of a week or it is only a partial week, then, the first pickups would begin the following week that is a full week.
Example: June 6, begins the month of June July 1 is on a Friday, so that will actually be the end of June on the schedule.
The City of Leeds cannot pick up tires, gasoline products, gas cans, paint, propane tanks, refrigerators, air conditioners, freezers or anything that holds a refrigerant, no loose leaves, pine straw, etc. (needs to be in bags) and Bulk Wastes does not pick up household trash. There are certain days each year in Jefferson County that provides a place to drop off some of these items that are not accepted in your regular Bulk Waste program.
For more information about the City of Leeds Public Works and our Bulk Waste program, please visit LeedsAlabama.org or call Martha Ports at 205.699.0935.
Public Works at Work
The City of Leeds appreciates the job that our Public Works performs every day. This is just an example where they are cleaning up areas in two subdivisions that were abandoned and created an issue. Council voted for the City to clean it up and this crew got busy on this project just like they do all of their assignments to keep our City looking good! THANK YOU! LeedsAlabama.org
