The First My Story Town - Leeds Alabama Event a Success
Leeds Jane Culbreth Library hosted the first My Story Town - Leeds Alabama event and it was a huge success. Approximately 20 adults and children attended this event held at the library for attendees to learn more about the library and its history.
Annette McGuire, LJCL Programs & Services Coordinator, read a book that talked about My Story Town and shared some information about what My Story Town is and plans for the next 24 months with monthly tours around the City of Leeds for everyone to learn more about the people, businesses and organizations that make Leeds the great city that it is in celebration of the library's 100th birthday which will be in 2023. Randy Ray from Leeds Historical Society shared information about the history of the library and Jane Culbreth with whom the library was named after.
The children were presented with My Story Town passports and the first sticker for their passport. Children will receive a sticker for their book each time they attend a My Story Town tour event. The next My Story Town event will be held at the Leeds Fire Department on Tuesday, October 11 at 10:30 am.
