September is Hunger Action Month
Please don't think for a minute there aren't kids in this community who are hungry. September is "Hunger Action Month." According to feedingamerica.org:
- According to the USDA, more than 34 million people, including 9 million children, in the United States are food insecure.
- The pandemic has increased food insecurity among families with children and communities of color, who already faced hunger at much higher rates before the pandemic.
- Every community in the country is home to families who face hunger. But rural communities are especially hard hit by hunger.
- Many households that experience food insecurity do not qualify for federal nutrition programs and visit their local food banks and other food programs for extra support.

Leeds-Moody Area Kids Acting Class
Event: Kids Acting Class for Grades 1st-12th grades - every Tuesday night at 5:30-6:30pm - just started back. Details: We have a couple of spots left and are doing a show called "Christmas Shorts" at the end of the class. We have 20 kids of all ages and the kids are learning a lot with theater. We are focused on comedy skills this semester. We will be accepting kids up to the start of October or until we hit 25 kids.

We look forward to seeing everyone on the 19th, it's going to be great fun and a great show!
Leeds Area Chamber Corporate Ambassador Meeting
Corporate Ambassadors for the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce will meet at Noon on Wednesday, September 20 at Mango’s Cantina & Grill. Lunch is $10 and payable at the meeting. In addition to covering Chamber business and assignments at each meeting, business-building information is shared and each attendee is given a few moments to share information about themselves and their company.
This monthly meeting is offered as a benefit of Chamber membership. Each Chamber member is encouraged to have a representative attend each month, because it’s a great way to get more involved and keep up with upcoming events and community information that can benefit your company. If you are not a Chamber member, we invite you to attend to learn more about what we do as a chamber of commerce.
